Our mission provides the best overview of what we do:

Healing HEART Sanctuary is devoted to helping animals and children get back on their feet directly or through outreach and program development.

We take in rescued animals that have been injured or disabled and rehabilitate them. They either stay with HHS as a part of our onsite program or when it’s time, we find appropriate adoptive homes for these special needs pets. During the animal’s rehabilitative time at Healing HEART Sanctuary, children who are physically, mentally, or emotionally challenged get the chance to interact with, care for, and help in the recovery process of the animals. The gratitude, joy, and love that the animals express enhances the human-animal bond and helps the children learn, among other things, that happiness need not be dependent upon circumstances.

Healing HEART Sanctuary is also dedicated to raising awareness of the able-ness of animals with disabilities, sharing information and collaborating with the public and other animal and people organizations.

To find out more about Healing HEART Sanctuary, check out our:

  • History: How three people shared a very special vision which came to be Healing HEART Sanctuary
  • Staff: Who makes the sanctuary run, and what our needs are for growth
  • Board of Directors: The individuals involved in our growth and who else we need
  • Advisory Council: We’re just building our Advisory Council, you might find a way to assist without the time commitment of a member of the Board of Directors
  • Founder Tribute: A bit about Andy Stallman, one of the HHS founders
  • Financials: Please feel free to check out our financials published on GuideStar

As you can see in the rest of our website, Healing HEART Sanctuary specifically:

  • Implements various programs; new programs are currently in development
  • Offers services especially outreach services
    • A key element of our outreach is to assist other rescues and sanctuaries that do not have the knowledge of how to help a disabled animal but are willing to invest the time and resources needed to do so
  • Helps animals and their families, if they have one, to get back on their feet just after a disaster
  • Takes in animals as either permanent residents; or rehabilitates and then places the animals for adoption
    • As part of our rehabilitation services, we utilize proven non-invasive and non-pharmaceutical traditional, alternative, and complementary treatments; in some cases, these treatments involve using proven techniques for humans and adapting the treatment to animals

If after reviewing the above sections, as well as the rest of the site, you find there’s still more you’d like to know about Healing HEART Sanctuary, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

And if you find that you like what you see and are in a position to provide assistance, either by donating or volunteering, we and the animals always appreciate the support.
